Essential Qualifications
To succeed as a Retail Associate - Building Supplies at Lowe's, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; some college or vocational training preferred
- 6 months of experience working with computers, including inputting, accessing, revising, or displaying digital information
- 6 months of experience in the retail industry, including using smartphones and tablets in retail operations
- The ability to lift 25 pounds independently, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance
- The ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and move around the store
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with:
- Sales experience, including selling products, credit cards, installations, and add-ons
- Experience in customer service, including managing queries, helping customers locate products, and cultivating relationships
- Bilingual proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
- Certification in various trades, including hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials
