About the Role: MAA Professional Music Teacher
As a Music Teacher at Music & Arts, you will have the opportunity to teach music lessons to a diverse population of students, both in our clean and safe studios and through online lessons. You will be responsible for communicating with parents of students (where applicable) on the progress of each student, collaborating with our store team to maximize the lesson experience, and inspiring learning and creativity in your students. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach music lessons to a diverse population of students, including private and group lessons
- Communicate with parents of students (where applicable) on the progress of each student, providing regular updates and feedback
- Work with students in our clean and safe studios or through online lessons, adapting your teaching style to meet the needs of each student
- Collaborate with store team to maximize lesson experience, including participating in staff meetings and contributing to the development of new programs and initiatives
- Prepare and plan engaging and effective music lessons, using a variety of teaching methods and materials
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback, helping students to achieve their musical goals
Essential Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in music education, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The minimum requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent substitutable experience in music education or a related field
- 2 years of music teaching experience, preferably in a private lesson setting
- Strong knowledge of music theory and history, as well as expertise in your instrument or area of specialization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and support
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Master's Degree or higher in music education or a related field
- Experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels, including beginners and advanced students
- Knowledge of music technology and software, including digital audio workstations and music notation programs
- Experience with online teaching platforms and tools, including video conferencing software and online lesson management systems
- Ability to speak multiple languages, with a focus on languages commonly spoken in the Kent, WA area
