Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for routine and complex emergency procedures, including RECOVER-based CPR and advanced resuscitation and stabilization of critical emergencies.
- Collaborate with our team of board-certified emergency/critical care veterinarians and other specialists to ensure leading-edge patient care.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Participate in the instruction and mentorship of DVM students, contributing to their education and professional development.
- Cross-train with other specialty services to enhance patient care and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency care protocols and procedures.
Essential Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology.
- Current licensure or eligibility to become licensed in New York State.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of veterinary emergency care procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a natural inclination towards leadership.
- Interest in ongoing career growth and advanced skill development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary emergency care setting.
- Certification in veterinary emergency and critical care (VECC) or other relevant specialty.
- Experience in mentoring or instructing students or junior staff members.
