We're now seeking an experienced In-Home Assembly and Installation Technician II to join our team in supporting Amazon delivery services.
About the Role
As an In-Home Assembly and Installation Technician II, you will be responsible for delivering and assembling a variety of consumer and office products, such as furniture, backyard playsets, appliances, grills, TV mounts, and exercise equipment, at customers' homes or businesses. You will be the primary point of contact for our customers, ensuring they have an exceptional "white glove" experience. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset, a flexible attitude, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a delivery truck, cargo or sprinter van, and follow a time schedule to ensure timely deliveries.
- Manage and record inventory movements within a warehouse setting, ensuring accurate tracking and control.
- Safely load and unload the delivery vehicle using a dolly or hand truck, and take measures to prevent damage to products, the vehicle, or customers' homes.
- Unbox and assemble a variety of products based on instruction manuals, blueprint specifications, parts lists, and drawings.
- Take precise measurements to ensure accurate fit of products in customers' homes.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area at customers' homes, including wearing booties, removing packing materials, and disposing of debris.
- Lift and move products weighing up to 50-200 pounds on a regular basis, with or without assistance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during delivery and assembly, ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
- Collect proof of delivery and non-cash payments from customers, as required.
- Accurately complete required logs and reports, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- At least 1 year of experience in similar "white glove" customer service functions.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a cargo van or 14'-26' straight truck.
- Advanced knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with email and mobile apps.
- A flexible work schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a reliable attendance record.
- The capacity to maintain confidentiality of customer purchases or records.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded:
- Low voltage, HVAC, plumbing, or other relevant licenses, depending on the products being installed.
- Previous experience working with Amazon or other e-commerce companies.
- A strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
