About the Role: Driving IT Excellence at American Airlines
As an Associate Technician, IT Services, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems, supporting our employees and customers across the globe. Key Responsibilities: Delivering IT Support and Excellence
- Design, install, monitor, and maintain IT clients' desktop software and hardware, ensuring optimal performance and support for our mobile workforce.
- Conduct meetings with IT clients to address all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software, providing expert guidance and support.
- Take ownership of end-to-end issue resolution, communication, and troubleshooting with employees, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Provide local training to clients, enhancing their technical knowledge and skills.
- Resolve and close tickets/work orders supporting end-user desktops and peripherals, ensuring prompt and efficient service.
- Respond to client assistance issues raised from the Helpdesk, providing expert support and resolution.
- Contribute to desktop projects (global installs/updates) as a project team member, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Remotely diagnose and resolve demands using remote tools, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
- Investigate and collaborate with various departments to address system-related issues, driving effective solutions.
- Document client interactions in the incident management system, including asset management, to ensure accurate records and continuous improvement.
- Recover data from hard disk drives and/or perform data migration as needed, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Support remote access for virtual private network (VPN) and remote/broadband connectivity for workstations, ensuring seamless connectivity.
- Install and configure local and network-based printers, ensuring optimal performance and support.
- Perform preventive maintenance, minimizing downtime and ensuring system reliability.
- Work various shifts, occasions, and be available for potential emergencies and travel as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment.
- Follow management direction, complying with IT policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Perform various duties as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow.
Essential Qualifications: The Foundation for Success

- A minimum of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience/training.
- At least 2 years of hands-on IT work experience supporting and resolving diverse PC desktop software and hardware issues.
- Direct experience supporting PCs in a Windows/TCP/IP environment, with a strong understanding of IT systems and protocols.
