About American Airlines and the Role

As a Virtual Assistant, you will be part of the Flight Administration Group within the Customer Experience Division, working closely with airline stewards, flight administration management representatives, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional service and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to airline stewards and flight administration management representatives, responding to general inquiries, recording cost reimbursements, handling mail and FEDEX, and performing other tasks as required.
- Offer tablet support at Crew Administration Centers, assist with coordinating airline steward parking and Crew IDs, and order supplies to maintain the e-board in crew rooms.
- Work at the Crew Administration Center, interacting with airline stewards throughout the shift, organizing and resolving airline steward queries, and ensuring office and crew room PCs and equipment are in working condition.
- Assist Duty Managers with all aspects of Flight Administration operations, assuming Duty Manager responsibilities in their absence.
- Demonstrate independent judgment and problem-solving skills, working effectively with temporary work groups and adapting to changing circumstances.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of experience working with PC, Saber, DECS, and RES systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as required, with rotating shifts and days off.
- Ability to meet FAA criminal history records checks to qualify for unescorted access badges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:
- Current or previous experience in Flight Administration or Crew Scheduling.
- Knowledge of airline operations and industry practices.
- Experience working with temporary work groups and adapting to changing circumstances.
