About the Role
We're seeking a seasoned data architecture leader to join our Data Platform team as a Director, Cloud Data Architecture. In this role, you'll drive technical strategy, collaborating with business stakeholders to design and build a cloud data platform in Azure that aligns with our DaaS (Data as a Service) vision. You'll lead a team of data architects and engineers, establishing data architecture practices, and delivering data solutions across MVH business units. Your expertise will be instrumental in evaluating cutting-edge technologies, defining data engineering best practices, and ensuring enterprise-wide data architecture practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain data architecture practices that are used by data architects, data modelers, and data engineers across the organization.
- Lead a team of functional, technical, data architects, and data engineers to deliver data solutions that meet business needs and align with our DaaS vision.
- Collaborate with data platforms stakeholders and partners to understand their needs and provide guidance on DaaS techniques and solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and innovations in data architecture to identify opportunities that can accelerate our DaaS and product roadmap.
- Provide leadership in defining overall data engineering best practices, data standards, data security, and data management.
- Mentor junior team members and serve as a role model for data architects and data engineers across teams.
- Partner cross-functionally with BI, Data & Analytics, Data Science, and Cloud Engineering teams to ensure alignment and meeting enterprise-wide data architecture needs.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, etc.).
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud data architecture and data engineering, with a strong background in Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, SQL, Power BI, and cloud-based data architectures.
- Demonstrated leadership presence and ability to lead with influence.
- People leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- A Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in veterinary or human healthcare, pharmaceuticals, etc.

We offer a competitive salary, ranging from $151,000 to $227,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
