Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Education Project Manager to oversee the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities, including conferences and online content. This role requires strong project management skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a senior project manager, you will work closely with conference leaders, faculty, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and delivery of high-quality educational content.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Management: Liaise with product or grant managers to intake activity requirements and provide implementation status updates. Develop and manage activity timelines, ensuring milestones are met according to schedule.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of staff and vendors implementing educational activities using proven project management strategies. Facilitate internal team and faculty meetings, including agenda development and meeting minutes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders across multiple divisions and departments to ensure successful activity implementation. Coordinate with activity leadership, faculty, and fellow staff to develop needs-based, measurable educational content.
- Content Development: Use appropriate sources and data to identify key clinical and/or non-clinical problems and associated practice gaps. Develop learning objectives, desired outcomes, and agendas for activities.
- Budgeting and Financial Management: Monitor the financial status of assigned activities, recommending areas for managing revenue and expenses.
- Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure compliance with accreditation policies and procedures (e.g., ACCME, ANCC). Keep current on standards and guidance in the medical education field.
- Support and Mentorship: Provide support and mentorship to more junior members of the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree is required.
- Experience: At least seven years of demonstrated experience in project management and/or development of educational activities. At least four years of experience working in a team environment with internal and external constituencies.
- Project Management Skills: Experience managing multiple large-scale in-person, virtual, or hybrid national meetings simultaneously. Experience managing online delivery of educational activities through a Learning Management System and/or online platform.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to support teaming with a broad array of stakeholders, including medical professionals, executive leaders, contractors, consultants, partners, and internal colleagues.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe Professional.
Preferred Qualifications
- Activity Management Experience: Experience in the medical education field.
- Project Management Certification: Project management certification or credential.
- Constituent Engagement Software: Experience using constituent engagement and management software (e.g., Personify, Salesforce).
- Scientific Program Development: Experience working on the development of the scientific program for a medical society annual conference.
- Global Experience: Experience partnering with faculty on the development and delivery of educational activities outside of the United States and/or experience working with a global audience or international stakeholders.
