Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group X Instructor to join our team at Gold's Gym in Annandale, VA. As a Group X Instructor, you will lead and motivate members in a group environment, providing a safe and effective workout experience that enhances overall fitness, strength, and endurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver group fitness classes based on industry standards and approved formats
- Instruct participants on effective workout methods, proper techniques, and modifications
- Provide verbal instructions, demonstrate exercises, and ensure a motivational and conducive atmosphere
- Coach and motivate class participants to achieve fitness goals and monitor for signs of injury or overexertion
- Interact with participants, answer questions, and generate a positive exercise experience
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude, represent Gold's Gym, and adhere to fitness attire standards
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training (hands-on certification)
- Minimum of six months teaching experience in a group exercise environment
- Nationally recognized Group fitness certification by ACE, AFAA, ACSM
- Verifiable proof of specialized skill/training (e.g., Yoga, Pilates, Body Pump, Body Attack)
- Demonstrated knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies, physiology, anatomy, and training principles
- High degree of energy, physical fitness, and endurance
- Positive and effective interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment
