Job Overview
We are looking for a talented and energetic Senior Data Analyst to join our Query and Recommendations Analysis team. The team uses arenaflex's vast datasets to inform the development of our product recommendations. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will work closely with a high-performing team of engineers, AI engineers/data scientists, and product managers who are at the forefront of the product recommendation space.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, run, and analyze the results of A/B tests of new recommendation algorithms and techniques
- Develop and implement new testing and test analysis methodologies
- Perform exploratory data analysis (e.g., clustering/classification) to generate new insights and inform our product recommendation roadmap
- Utilize and develop our in-house automated tools, such as a QA tool to better understand the performance of our new algorithms before A/B testing them
- Run unconditional exploratory data analysis to identify novel ideas and potential opportunities
- Plan and run A/B tests of our latest recommendations algorithms
- Proactively monitor our recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine underlying drivers, and resolve
- Build new tools that allow us to be more efficient and productive
- Work closely and build effective relationships with our product, engineering, and AI partners
- Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, computer science)
- Analysis or Data Science experience with e-commerce organizations is a strong plus
- In-depth experience with SQL (full capabilities, query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, Vertica/Hive/Voila/Flash, etc.), required
- In-depth experience with Python and Python tools (Jupyter notebooks, functions, pandas, sklearn, matplotlib, etc.), required
- Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business independent direction, highly preferred
- Knowledge and experience using machine learning algorithms/methods (decision trees, random forest, deep learning, etc.) within a business setting, highly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication with a collaborative person, highly cooperative mindset
- Ability to collaborate and proactively communicate with stakeholders
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and technical abilities along with problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., master's or Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, computer science)
- Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)
