About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Remote Backend Engineer to join our team, responsible for overseeing the improvement of numerous critical components related to sound/video organization, real-time highly concurrent Live games, and VOD (Video On Demand) content across the globe. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of high-scale distributed systems, ensuring low latency and high scalability
- Design and build microservices, making informed decisions about datastores and leveraging expertise in RDBMS, NoSQL data stores, and message brokers like Kafka
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and senior specialists, to drive agreement on solution approaches
- Analyze complex issues, breaking them down into manageable deliveries, and prioritize work to ensure timely completion
- Participate in on-call activities, identifying repeat patterns, and taking proactive measures to address underlying causes, ensuring proper documentation and visibility
- Mentor junior engineers, contributing to the growth and development of our team, and participate in recruiting top talent
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proficiency in Python or Golang, with experience building high-scale distributed systems
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, with expertise in designing and building low-latency, high-scale systems
- Experience with code forming tools like Github, CI/CD tools like Harness or GoCD, and visibility tools to monitor and proactively identify issues
