Job Overview: Math Teacher/Tutor

As a Math Teacher/Tutor at Mathnasium, you will play a vital role in helping students develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, build confidence, and cultivate a growth mindset. You will work with students in grades K-12, using our proprietary curriculum and teaching strategies to create a fun and artistic learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach students in grades K-12 using their customized learning plans, developed by our expert instructors.
• Assist students with homework completion and provide guidance on math-related tasks.
• Deliver high-quality instruction, adapting to the needs and abilities of each student.
• Participate in paid training to familiarize yourself with Mathnasium's curriculum, teaching strategies, and team teaching methods.
• Work collaboratively with other instructors to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
• Maintain a clear and accurate record of student progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

• Strong math proficiency up to Algebra (proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is a plus).
• Exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (covering material from 2nd grade and up).
• Availability for at least 2 weekday shifts (afternoons after 3 pm).
• Clear record on state and national background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in teaching or tutoring math, particularly in a K-12 setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• A degree in mathematics, education, or a related field.
