Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process deliveries, verifying items against orders and invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Pack or unpack a wide variety of items into or from cartons, boxes, or similar containers, ensuring careful handling and attention to detail.
- Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, etc.) and contact supervisors if mistakes are identified.
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place, maintaining accurate records and ensuring invoices are signed and paid for satisfactory deliveries.
- Prepare packages for shipping, processing all company shipments with required paperwork, including shipping labels.
- Pick-up parcels from local stores and perform other duties as required.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data and basic math skills.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and excellent organizational skills.
- Great communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Keen eye for detail and high school diploma required.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Professional interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in customer-facing roles.
- Proficiency in using office automation systems, Microsoft Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Postal Service requirements and codes, as well as experience with writing and preparing memorandums and project papers.
