Downingtown Area School District is a dynamic and forward-thinking educational institution dedicated to providing a comprehensive and supportive learning environment for its students. Located in the heart of Downingtown, PA, the district is now seeking highly motivated and experienced Building Wellness Liaisons to join its team. As a Building Wellness Liaison, you will play a pivotal role in promoting and supporting the overall wellness of K-12 students, working closely with the Wellness Advisory Committee, School Health Councils, and Student Committees to drive the district's wellness initiatives forward.
The primary objective of this role is to coordinate, promote, and support the Board's goal of K-12 student wellness within the district. As a Building Wellness Liaison, you will be responsible for leading monthly building School Health Council meetings, attending district School Health Council meetings as a building liaison, and submitting action plans annually with goals aligned with district-wide wellness initiatives. Your expertise and passion for student wellness will be instrumental in encouraging and overseeing student involvement in the planning and support of building-level wellness goals, providing annual reports on goals and information for the annual district wellness report, and completing the School Health Index to guide action planning and goals.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must be a graduate of an accredited college or university and hold a proper Pennsylvania certification for the position. You should demonstrate knowledge in the area of assignment, possess a positive attitude toward the teaching profession, administration, service to the district, and the importance and purpose of the education program. Additionally, you must be proficient in the use of current technology for individual or group demonstration or communication and be able to flex and vary hours to accommodate the needs of students, parents, and other teachers.
