Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics and data science, including developing new courses and curricula
- Conduct independent research in applied mathematics and data science, with a focus on developing and applying data-driven mathematical modeling and computation
- Mentor students, including undergraduate and graduate research projects, and provide academic advising
- Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and community outreach
- Collaborate with colleagues across the UNC campus to develop interdisciplinary research projects and programs
- Stay current with developments in the field, including attending conferences, workshops, and seminars
Essential Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field
- Strong research potential, including a record of publications and presentations
- Excellent teaching and communication skills, including the ability to teach a diverse range of students
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
