About the Role: Sr Director, Business Development
We are seeking an experienced Sr Director of Business Development to join our team in the United States. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for growing relationships with customers at all levels to understand their business objectives and identify opportunities for Flex to add value. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new business with key target customer markets to achieve specific booking targets and drive revenue growth.
- Collaborate with internal and external product design organizations to understand customer needs and develop solutions that meet their business objectives.
- Analyze and understand customer business strategies, future product plans, and expansion activities to identify opportunities for Flex to add value.
- Define, initiate, and program manage business development activities that strengthen, expand, and drive market penetration.
- Assist customers in the development and execution of product roadmaps and act as a focal point in delivering Flex solutions.
- Qualify and champion opportunities, collaborating with and securing buy-in from key Flex stakeholders.
- Accurately articulate customer requirements back to Flex, identifying and securing the right subject matter experts, and creating, leading, and ensuring accountability across deal-specific collaborative teams.
- Ensure high-quality customer communications early in the engagement process, working directly with client CEOs and COOs.
What a Typical Day Looks Like:
As a Sr Director of Business Development at Flex, your day will be filled with a mix of customer interactions, internal collaborations, and strategic planning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute business development strategies, identify new opportunities, and drive revenue growth. Your expertise in the consumer electronics industry will be invaluable in navigating complex customer relationships and developing solutions that meet their needs.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Business.
- 10+ years of experience in a senior sales or business development executive role with a track record of driving above-industry-average revenue and margin growth.
- Deep knowledge of how hardware products are created, manufactured, and how the product development process works.
- Experience working in the consumer electronics industry, selling comprehensive technology solutions into related product development, supply chain, and/or manufacturing operations.
- Working knowledge of consumer technology products markets (e.g., Appliances, Connected Home, Micro-Mobility, robotics, wireless products, wearable technologies, gaming consoles and peripherals, audio and video products and accessories).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to function exceptionally in all phases of the sales process, including account sales strategy, planning, and execution.
- Experience developing and maintaining client executive relationships and mapping out complex accounts.
- Ability to drive conversations and results to senior leadership within company and customer relationships.
- Experience preparing and planning for client executive interactions/meetings and tracking meeting value, meeting objective achievement, and meeting action items/follow-up.
