Responsibilities
As a Social Media Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Content creation: Develop and distribute engaging written or graphic content across various social media platforms, including e-newsletters, web page and blog content, and social media messages.
- Social media management: Manage social media presence for clients, including creating and scheduling content, responding to comments and messages, and analyzing engagement metrics.
- Analytics and reporting: Use data to develop and measure marketing program performance, and provide recommendations for revising social media, content marketing, SEO, and social advertising campaigns.
- Influencer outreach: Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts for clients.
- Content calendar management: Create and manage editorial calendars and syndication schedules.
- Training and guidance: Provide training and guidance to social media and marketing team members on social media implementation best practices and strategies.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Excellent knowledge of social media platforms: In-depth knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google, and other social media platforms.
- Social media management experience: 2+ years of experience building social presence for global consumer brands, with experience in handling social media presence for both B2B and B2C clientele.
- Analytical and quantitative skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data to develop and measure marketing program performance.
- Content creation skills: Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree: A BA in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media, or Public Relations.
- Availability: The ability to work 40 hours per week from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm PT.
- Organizational skills: The ability to stay highly organized with great attention to detail and be deadline-oriented.
- Confidentiality and discretion: The ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with:
- Experience with social media management platforms: Experience with Hootsuite or other social media management platforms.
- Knowledge of blogging ecosystem: A working knowledge of the blogging ecosystem relevant to the company's field.
- Experience with design tools and applications: Experience with design tools and applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
