We're now seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Assurance Specialist to join our team and drive the success of our PRRS Resistant Pig program.
Job Overview
As a Senior Technical Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in initiating, leading, and supporting product development, supply chain, and regulatory activities to enhance PRRS Resistant Pig populations through continuous genetic improvement. You'll work closely with our research farms, production staff, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of our on-farm improvement program, maintain regulatory compliance, and drive the dissemination of elite PRRS Resistant animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of our genetic improvement strategy within PRRS Resistant Pig research farms, ensuring the successful implementation of our on-farm improvement program.
- Train staff and technical site leads to drive the adoption of PRRS Resistant Pig genetics and improve production outcomes.
- Develop, maintain, and document protocols for routine and special projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Support FDA regulatory compliance activities, including standard operating procedure training, submission of required regulatory reports, and audit preparation.
- Collaborate with our Supply Chain team to provide monthly reports for internal and external use, driving business decisions and improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the planning and execution of genetic dissemination of elite PRRS Resistant animals across PRRS Resistant Pig research farms, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality genetics.
- Provide remote support for data acquisition, including troubleshooting software and hardware issues, to ensure seamless data collection and analysis.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A university degree in Animal Science or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience within intensive swine production systems.
- A thorough understanding of swine production practices, including genetics, nutrition, and health management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in diverse cultural contexts and fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
- The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across teams and functional areas, with a strong focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent training and development skills, with the ability to deliver necessary training for production staff.
