We’re scaling fast and hiring skilled 3D Character Artists who can take AI-generated 3D drafts and turn them into game-ready, rigged characters within one workday.
The Role
You’ll take AI-generated 3D base models from our senior artist and:
- Clean them up
- Retopologize
- Texture them
- Rig them yourself (ideally using AI rig tools)
- Deliver fully game-ready, signed-off assets
Goal: 1 complete, approved character per day (~8 hours).
Pay: $150–$200 per approved character.
Minimum: 5 approved characters per week.
Pipeline: 150+ active characters with more coming in the new year.
Our Streamlined Pipeline
We’ve already automated the front-end; your job is to finish strong.
Sketch + Reference (Provided)
You’ll receive a character sketch and reference sheet from our design team.
AI 3D Draft (Handled by Senior 3D Artist)
Our senior artist uses tools like Moshi/Meshy/Luma to generate a clean starting mesh.
You’ll receive this AI-generated base model ready for cleanup and polish.
Your Steps (8-Hour Workflow)
1. Cleanup Pass: Fix proportions, holes, and messy geometry. (1–2 hrs)
2. Retopology: Build clean, efficient, animation-friendly topology. (4–5 hrs)
3. UVs + PBR Texturing: Unwrap, bake, and texture in Substance 4. Painter or Blender. (1–2 hrs)
5. Rigging (Preferred): Use Mixamo, AccuRig, or similar AI tools to rig and skin the model for animation. (1–2 hrs)
✅ If you can’t rig, that’s okay — we have riggers to support. But preference goes to artists who can do it all.
6. Final QA & Export: Deliver FBX, textures, and material maps for Unreal integration. (30–45 min)
⚙️ Requirements
- Expert-level retopology (must know animation-friendly edge flow)
- Strong UVs, texturing, and PBR material work
- Familiar with AI 3D tools (Meshy, Moshi, Luma, Kaedim, etc.)
- Experienced in Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter
- Bonus: Can rig using AI-assisted tools (Mixamo, AccuRig, Rigify, etc.)
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 asset prep (FBX, materials, skeletons)
- Reliable daily communication and consistent delivery (Slack, Trello)
