Job Summary
As a Pharmacy Technician - Remote Medical Device Field Service Representative - Med Dispensing Field, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical devices, including MedBank and Pyxis systems. You will work independently and as part of a team to perform updates, maintenance, and remediation activities on these devices, traveling to various locations across the US. Key Responsibilities
- Perform updates, maintenance, and remediation activities on MedBank and Pyxis devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Track and maintain administrative requirements and data, as required by BD, to ensure accurate documentation and reporting.
- Accurately document time worked on each product and submit reports on-time, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
- Book travel arrangements using the BD travel booking tool, ensuring seamless logistics and minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, share knowledge, and best practices.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of medical device systems, including MedBank and Pyxis, to ensure effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., pharmacy, healthcare, biomedical engineering) preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as pharmacy, healthcare, or biomedical engineering; experience working with Pyxis and MedBank systems highly desirable.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software applications.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy technician certification (e.g., PTCB) or willingness to obtain.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or nursing home.
- Familiarity with medical device systems, including MedBank and Pyxis.
- Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Ability to lift 70-pound objects from the floor to chest level.
- Ability to operate powered drills, powered screwdrivers, and other powered tools.
- Ability to sit, kneel, squat, bend, and stand repeatedly over the course of an 8-10 hour day.
- Ability to push and pull heavy objects (on casters).
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks while reaching over the course of an 8-10 hour day.
- Ability to carry a 40-pound pack on your back or shoulder for up to one hour.
- Ability to drive distances of up to six hours in adverse weather conditions.
- May be required to wear a respirator while servicing equipment, thus must be able to pass a fit test and medical evaluation.
Travel Requirements
- This is a heavy travel position, with Mondays and Fridays typically being travel days.
- Technicians may be required to remediate devices on Monday/Friday if they have a short travel day.
- Schedule is between 8-10 hour days, depending on location; may require working off-hours to access OR Suites when procedures are not taking place.
