Job Overview: DNP Project & Practicum III - Online Visiting Professor
We are seeking a Part-Time Online Visiting Professor to join our team, specifically to teach in our Doctorate of Nursing (DNP) online program. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced nurse educator to share their expertise and passion for nursing education with students in a flexible, 100% online teaching environment. The specific course we are hiring for is NR707-DNP Project & Practicum III, which focuses on preparing students for evidence-based practice change using advanced nursing judgment in the practicum setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and provide students with an approved syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus and includes terminal course objectives.
- Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
- Utilize appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software to prepare the course and make it accessible to students.
- Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning outcomes.
- Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and the weight distribution of various evaluation categories.
- Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives, demonstrating consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams.
- Provide timely feedback to students to support their learning and progression.
- Complete other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards of Chamberlain University.
Essential Qualifications
- MSN and DNP or PhD in Nursing degree is required, reflecting a strong academic foundation in nursing.
- An active nursing license is essential, with a Compact/Multi-State RN License preferred for flexibility and broader reach.
- At least 2 years of experience as an academic DNP project faculty advisor, demonstrating expertise in guiding students through their projects and practicum experiences.
- Online teaching experience is required, as the role involves teaching in a 100% online environment and leveraging technology to engage students and deliver course content effectively.
- Illinois RN License will be required to teach all courses, ensuring compliance with state-specific requirements.
- Must have required subject matter expertise and outstanding written communication skills, with familiarity with APA formatting and standards.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
The expected compensation rate for this position is between $850/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate's education and experience.
