Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Food Service Worker to join our team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. As a Food Service Worker, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our clients, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and providing excellent customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals to clients, including salads, sauces, desserts, coffee, and tea
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, including sanitation duties and cleaning equipment
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries and taking inventory
- Prepare documentation required for food service operations, including preparation and inventory pull sheets, production/service documentation, sanitation records, and meal delivery records
- Assist with training and orienting new staff members and detainee workers
- Monitor and direct detainee workers in tray preparation, cleanup, sanitation, and other related duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent certification
- One year of food production experience in a commercial, military, or institutional setting (preferred)
- Experience in the field of corrections/detainee management and prior correctional food service training (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain records, files, and prepare simple reports
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
