About the Role: Field Service Engineer

As a Field Service Engineer at Avantor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance of laboratory equipment for our customers across the UK. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing laboratory equipment, as well as providing technical training and support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site preventive maintenance, calibrations, and repairs of laboratory devices to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Advise customers on necessary work and required parts to ensure that their equipment is running efficiently and effectively.
• Perform on-site interventions on lab equipment to resolve technical issues and provide troubleshooting support.
• Conduct validations on lab equipment to ensure that it is functioning correctly and meeting customer requirements.
• Provide technical training to customers on the use and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure that they are getting the most out of their investment.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong technical background and excellent customer service skills. The following qualifications and skills are essential:

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Intermediate experience in maintaining and repairing professional or industrial equipment, preferably in a laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with SAP and proficiency in Excel, including V-lookup.
• Fluent in English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full clean driving license, with the ability to travel UK-wide.
• Flexible and adaptable, with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:

• Experience working with laboratory equipment, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.
• Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software and other technical tools.
