Key Responsibilities
- Perform both subjective analysis (e.g., text analysis, phenomenology, theory testing) and quantitative analysis (e.g., clustering regression, pattern recognition, descriptive and inferential statistics) on large data sets to understand trends and relationships between variables and gain predictive insights.
- Plan and execute studies to answer targeted questions and resolve identified issues by actively engaging with colleagues to understand key business challenges.
- Lead investigations concerning various streams of data to solve complex business problems.
- Design and execute reporting dashboards using established data warehouse designs that track and visually communicate key business metrics and provide meaningful insights.
- Write and interpret complex queries to solve business problems; design and review algorithms based on models to provide analysis and insights into trends used for compliance; streamline and automate existing reporting and analysis stock, and new project outcome metrics to surpass FedEx Quality standards through the application of Value Drive Management (VDM) principles and tools.
- Identify internal and external data sources, build effective working relationships with informed authorities inside FedEx and the external marketplace.
- Assist with data migration and processing of business intelligence to the FedEx team as a subject matter expert; strongly influence the team by creating, standardizing, and maintaining a data-driven analysis culture.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for the Data Scientist role at FedEx, you must have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Data Science or a related field with an emphasis on Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, Advanced Analytics, Stream Processing, and Representations. A Master's degree is preferred.
