Job description: Scion Technology has been engaged to conduct a search for a skilled and experienced Engineering Manager on behalf of our client, a thriving and innovative enterprise solutions organization based in Atlanta, GA, or Dallas/Fort Worth, TX!
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technical leader skilled in both hands-on engineering and program management. You'll guide the development of scalable Java and Angular applications, mentor a high-performing team, and collaborate with product and design leaders. This full-time direct hire role is open for immediate placement and allows for remote work from either the Atlanta or Dallas/Fort Worth area.

- Compensation range is $125-150k, dependent on experience.
What you will be doing:
- Leading the end-to-end development of enterprise-level applications utilizing Java and Angular.
- Architecting scalable backend systems using JSP, Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Providing technical direction and hands-on guidance to frontend efforts using Angular to deliver responsive, intuitive UI.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product, design, QA, and offshore engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Managing engineering roadmaps and schedules while identifying risks and ensuring delivery excellence.
- Supporting the growth and development of engineering team members through mentoring and technical leadership.
- Acting as the liaison between technical teams and stakeholders to align solutions with business objectives.
- Promoting Agile best practices and ensuring sprint goals and milestones are consistently met.
- Conducting code reviews and delivering architectural oversight and support.
What you will need:
- 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with 6+ years focused on technical architecture and program management.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of JSP, Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Advanced experience working with Angular (version 10 or newer preferred).
- Expertise in RESTful APIs, cloud deployments (AWS preferred), and CI/CD integration.
- Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring geographically distributed teams.
- Proven track record of aligning engineering efforts with strategic business initiatives.
