• *The Work:**
We're a Virginia workers' compensation and injury law firm looking for someone to create and manage a visually appealing email newsletter for our contact list. We have an existing MailChimp account and contact database—we need someone to design templates, write/edit content, and execute sends.
• *Responsibilities:**
- Design a branded, professional email template that stands out in crowded inboxes
- Create visually engaging newsletter layouts (not walls of text)
- Incorporate legal content provided by attorney and supplement with additional content (firm news, seasonal tips, curated resources, CTAs)
- Write supporting copy, headlines, and section intros as needed
- Manage send schedule and execution in MailChimp
- Segment lists and optimize for open rates and engagement
- A/B test subject lines, layouts, and send times
- Provide monthly reporting on open rates, click-through rates, and engagement trends
• *Content Structure:**
- Attorney provides: Core legal content, case results, substantive updates
- You provide: Supporting copy, section formatting, curated content, seasonal/timely additions, visual presentation
• *What We're Looking For:**
- Clean, modern design sensibility—professional but not sterile
- Mobile-first thinking (most recipients will read on phones)
- Understanding of email best practices (deliverability, preview text, CTA placement)
- Ability to distill legal topics into scannable, engaging content
- Experience with MailChimp specifically
• *Newsletter Vision:**
- Frequency: Monthly or bi-weekly
- Content mix: Case results, legal tips, firm updates, seasonal safety content, calls to action
- Tone: Authoritative but approachable—we help real people, not corporations
- Design: Visual hierarchy, clean typography, strategic use of images/graphics, easy-to-scan sections
