We are seeking a passionate and experienced Elementary School English Language Arts Tutor to provide one-on-one, in-home tutoring to students in grades 1-6. You must be able to adapt to different learning styles and have the integrity and knowledge to encourage students to excel beyond expectations.
Job Overview:
- Provide English Language Arts tutoring to elementary school students (grades 1-6)
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs of each student
- Teach students to improve their reading fluency, decoding, and comprehension skills
- Assist students with homework help, organizational skills, and spelling
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and provide progress reports to families and our office
Responsibilities:
- Provide a session report for our office and families within 24 hours of each tutoring session
- Effectively balance tutoring hours for each assigned student
- Professionally teach students to fit their individual needs
- Service existing clients' concerns, questions, and requests
- Follow up with our office when a student's enrollment package is low on hours
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the education field and industry preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tutoring/teaching in specialized education fields preferred
- Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are a plus but not a requirement
- Experience with basic database/data entry and ability to prepare lesson plans
- Strong administration skills, typing, PC, and recording skills
- Reliable transportation with current car insurance is required
- Access to the internet, a computer, and a smartphone
