Job Overview:
We are seeking a visionary leader to join our team as the Director of Teaching and Learning. As a key member of the Indiana Department of Education, you will provide statewide leadership, coordination, professional development, and technical assistance for all aspects of teaching and learning. Your expertise will help drive student success, elevate educator support, and foster partnerships with educators, policymakers, business leaders, and community-based organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and interpret state educational policy related to all content areas
- Review, update, and support Indiana's State Standards, content frameworks, and other support materials
- Provide content expertise for the alignment of assessments and leadership in STEM Education, Science of Reading, and other state initiatives
- Develop and coordinate plans, policies, resources, and mission, as well as goals, vision, and expectations of the agency or program
- Supervise subordinate personnel, including hiring, determining workload, and delegating assignments, training, monitoring, and evaluating performance

Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of agency and/or organizational programs and business practices
- Ability to develop and measure program outcomes, identify problems, and generate solutions

- Supervisory experience and ability to lead a team
