About the position
Fitch Ratings is seeking a Credit Analyst to join the Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities Group (RMBS) in our New York office. The U.S. Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS) group is adding a Credit Analyst or a Senior Credit Analyst to its growing team. This position will collaborate with more senior analysts on transaction analysis; run computer models and perform spreadsheet analysis to evaluate credit risk and cash flow coverage for RMBS transactions; present transaction reviews and analysis at rating committees; develop an understanding of legal and accounting issues affecting a security; and contribute to research reports and press releases.
Responsibilities
• Analyze critical credit, legal and structural elements of residential mortgage-backed transactions
• Assist in the development of ratings criteria, including writing relevant reports and developing recommendations to bolster analysis
• Produce quality internal and external written reports including credit committees, criteria, special reports and market commentary
• Communicate Fitch rating methodology and criteria to issuers and investors
• Deployment and implementation of cashflow models and tools used in the rating process
• Lead and/or support research projects
• Maintain assigned rating relationships
Requirements
• You have a bachelor's degree at minimum
• You have 1-3 years of relevant experience (excluding internships)
• Experience in capital markets, mortgage markets, and/or credit analysis is a plus
• You possess strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• You have the ability to excel in a team-oriented environment
