About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Tutorial Assistant to provide academic support to high school students in various subjects, including math, science, social studies, and English. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring to high school students in various subjects, including math, science, social studies, and English.
- Develop and implement effective tutoring resources and materials to support student learning.
- Monitor student progress, identify areas of improvement, and adjust tutoring strategies accordingly.
- Assist students with homework and prepare them for tests and exams.
- Discuss challenging areas with students, including specific lessons or concepts, and develop strategies to overcome them.
- Attend monthly grant team meetings to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to ask questions and explore their interests.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in a related field (education, teaching, or a subject area expertise).
- Three years of experience working with students, preferably in a tutoring or teaching capacity.
- Proficient in basic computer programs, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Fluent in Spanish (additional languages a plus).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
