[Remote] National Employee Health & Benefits Compliance Consultant - Employee Health & Benefits

They are seeking an Employee Health & Benefits Compliance Consultant to assist with compliance education and training related to health and welfare benefits law. Responsibilities • Assist the Compliance Center of Excellence (COE) with the delivery of compliance assistance, education, and training with respect to federal, state, and local health and welfare benefits law to our Employee Health & Benefits (“EH&B”) practice and its clients and prospects • Address a wide variety of ad hoc compliance questions • Assist with writing and peer reviewing articles and presentations • Participate in client seminars and other public speaking engagements • Participate in the development of intellectual capital for use by MMA, its clients, and prospects Skills • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university or similarly recognized educational institution • Law Degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school in the United States • At least 3 years of experience focusing on U.S. health and welfare benefits law, specifically including ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and the Affordable Care Act • General knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of employer-provided group health and fringe benefit programs • Able to work effectively on a team of compliance subject matter experts • Able to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of statutory, regulatory, and other related technical guidance and material • Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions with support from senior COE staff • Able to draft intellectual capital and business correspondence for laypersons with support from senior COE staff • Able to participate in the presentation of information and responses to questions in both group and one-on-one settings • Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction • Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and organize own workload • Strong relationship builder and partner to the business • Must be able to work remotely using VPN access from home or while traveling Benefits • Generous time off, including personal and volunteering • Tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities • Charitable contribution match programs • Stock purchase opportunities • Health and welfare benefits • Tuition assistance • 401K savings and other retirement programs • Employee assistance programs Company Overview • Marsh McLennan is an insurance company that provides business insurance, employee benefits, and private client insurance solutions.
