We run a growing e-commerce business with a strong Amazon channel and are looking for a part-time Finance Director / Fractional CFO to help us make better commercial decisions.
We already have a bookkeeper and an external accountant.
This role is not about bookkeeping, tax, or tidy reports.
What we need is someone who can:
• Look at the numbers
• Call out what’s actually making (or losing) money
• Help us decide what to scale, what to fix, and what to stop
Amazon profitability and inventory decisions are a big part of this.
⸻
What you’ll actually be doing
• Reviewing product / SKU profitability (especially Amazon)
• Helping us understand when a product looks good but isn’t
• Cash-flow forecasting with inventory in mind
• Sense-checking buy decisions before money is committed
• Advising on when to hold stock vs exit and move on
• Acting as a sounding board for commercial decisions
This is a thinking role, not a reporting role.
⸻
What we’re looking for
• Solid experience in e-commerce finance
• Comfortable working with Amazon economics (fees, pricing, inventory)
• Previously worked as a Finance Director, CFO, or Head of Finance
• Happy working part-time / fractional
• Pragmatic, commercial, and willing to challenge assumptions
You don’t need to be “corporate”.
You do need to be comfortable saying “this is a bad idea” when it is.
⸻
What this role is NOT
• Bookkeeping
• Tax or statutory accounts
• Junior analysis work
• Pure theory or dashboards with no decisions behind them
⸻
Engagement
• Part-time / fractional (roughly 10–20 hours per month to start)
• Ongoing relationship if it’s a good fit
• Fully remote
⸻
How to apply
Please tell us:
• A bit about your e-commerce / Amazon experience
• One example where you helped a business avoid a bad financial decision
• Your availability and typical way of working
Generic copy-paste proposals won’t be a good fit.
