Adjunct Faculty - Nursing (Prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
Kean University: Union Campus, New Jersey selects qualified adjunct faculty to teach medical/surgical and nursing fundamentals courses in the PLBSN program. Candidates may also teach courses for the School Nursing Certification program.
Responsibilities
Teach one, three (3), or four (4) credit courses per semester.
Prepare and deliver instructional content, including clinical and laboratory assignments.
Provide office‑hour availability for each class taught: At least one (1) hour per week outside the classroom for one/three/four‑credit courses.
Thirty (30) minutes per week for each additional class taught during the semester.
For courses under three (3) credits, at least thirty (30) minutes of availability per week.
Offer additional office hours at discretion of the faculty member.
Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field (or ABD, Ed.D., Ph.D., or other acceptable doctorate).
Teaching experience in a nursing program (unless otherwise indicated).
Proficiency in a Learning Management System (consistent with University guidelines).
Compensation & Benefits
Effective September 2025: $2,100 per credit.
Effective September 2026: $2,225 per credit.
After the 13th semester taught: additional $75 per credit.
Paid in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Eligible for a state‑administered retirement plan and the Part‑Time State Health Benefits Program.
