Join our esteemed American Public University System as an Online Part-Time Faculty member in the Health Sciences Program, focusing on Health Information Management. We're seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to deliver high-quality online instruction to undergraduate and graduate students. As a part-time faculty member, you'll play a vital role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals, fostering a community of inquiry, and promoting academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging online lessons to undergraduate and graduate students
- Facilitate and moderate online classroom forums, promoting cognitive presence, teaching presence, and social presence
- Evaluate and grade students' assignments, providing constructive feedback to support learning and success
- Participate in professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay current with discipline-specific knowledge
- Collaborate with colleagues to support APUS initiatives and departments
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution
- College-level teaching experience; online teaching experience preferred
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to learn
- RHIA certification preferred
