About the Role
We're a legal marketing agency serving law firms. We produce legal doctrine research packets for various practice areas and jurisdictions. We need a contract reviewer to verify these packets for legal accuracy before we use them.
What You'll Review
Each packet covers a single practice area in a single state (e.g., Florida medical malpractice, North Carolina criminal defense). A typical packet runs 20-30 pages and includes:
-Black-letter rule statements
-Statutory citations (state and federal)
-Case citations with holdings
-Procedural requirements and deadlines
-Practice-specific exceptions and limitations
What We Need You To Do
Line-by-line verification:
-Case law: Confirm citations are real, holdings are accurately characterized, cases haven't been overruled or superseded
-Statutes: Confirm citations are correct, statutes are current, statutory language is accurately summarized
Rules: Confirm procedural rules, deadlines, and requirements are stated correctly
-Doctrinal statements: Flag any misstatements, mischaracterizations, or oversimplifications of the law
Deliver a marked-up document identifying errors, corrections needed, or items requiring further research.
