JOB DESCRIPTION Transitioning from your current role as a Notary to becoming a Digital Reporter (\"DR\") could be a significant shift. As a DR, you would oversee civil litigation proceedings and document all aspects, including witness testimony. It involves a more detailed and procedural involvement in legal proceedings compared to typical notarial duties. Are you interested in exploring this transition further? The Digital Reporter is responsible for: Â Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record. Â Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties. Â Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation. Â Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription. Â Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources. Â Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently. REQUIREMENTS Â State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it. Â Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states). Â Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, U.S. civil proceedings. Â Ownership of or willingness to acquire digital reporting equipment. Â Confidence to moderate live legal proceedings. Â Proficiency in spoken and written English. Â Comfortable with technology, particularly strong in keyboard skills. Â Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and a professional appearance. Â Open to working as an independent contractor. Â Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required.
