Key Responsibilities
As a Paraprofessional with Lowell Public Schools, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support instructional activities, facilitate small group and one-on-one tutoring sessions, and help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting classroom teachers with instructional activities, adapting materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Supporting students with diverse learning needs, providing individualized assistance and accommodations as required.
- Facilitating small group and one-on-one tutoring sessions, helping students to build confidence and achieve academic success.
- Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social-emotional learning and respect among students.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to implement educational plans, contributing to the development of student IEPs and behavioral support plans.
Qualifications and Requirements

Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in an educational setting, working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Passion for supporting students' educational journeys, with a commitment to promoting academic success and social-emotional learning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with students with special needs or English language learners.
- Knowledge of educational software and technology, with the ability to adapt to new tools and systems.
