Who We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced Virtual Reading Intervention Teacher who shares our passion for education and our commitment to innovation. If you're a skilled educator with a track record of success in teaching 3rd-8th grade students, we want to hear from you.
Here are some key qualities we're looking for in our ideal candidate:
- 2+ years of recent full-time experience teaching 3rd-8th grade – We're looking for educators who have a deep understanding of the curriculum and the skills to adapt it to meet the needs of their students.
- High expectations for student achievement – We believe that every student deserves a world-class education, and we're looking for teachers who share this vision.
- Ability to analyze assessment data and inform planning – Our teachers are data-driven and use assessment data to inform their instruction and make data-driven decisions.
- Flexibility and adaptability – We're a startup, and things can change quickly. We need teachers who are comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt to new situations.
- Experience with online tools – Our teachers use a range of online tools, including Google Classroom and Zoom, to deliver instruction and engage with students.
- Comfort with remote work – This is a fully remote position, so we need teachers who are comfortable working from home and can manage their time effectively.
What You'll Do
As a Virtual Reading Intervention Teacher with Primer, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students. Here are some key responsibilities you'll be expected to perform:
- Curriculum Planning – You'll adapt the curriculum in your content area to meet the needs of your students in a hybrid setting.
- Teaching – You'll teach approximately 6 lessons per day, virtually, to cohorts of kids.
- Data Analysis – You'll collect and analyze diagnostic data and use it to inform planning, grouping, and interventions.
- Mastery-Based Grading – By regularly documenting data, you'll give kids, families, and other teachers a clear window into a student's progress.
- Collaboration – You'll work with other Literacy teachers and our on-the-ground Microschool leaders to improve student outcomes.
