About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to join our team. As a Senior Data Modeler at arenaflex, you will have the opportunity to work with large-scale data sets, design and implement data strategies, and build data streams to support business decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data streams, and develop logical data models.
- Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and support application, group, and interactive use cases.
- Design, develop, and maintain logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects in accordance with company standards.
- Develop data modeling solutions optimized for social, layered, and NoSQL databases.
- Maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
- Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.
- Identify opportunities for reuse of data models in new contexts.
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.
- Assess data models and physical databases for inconsistencies and anomalies.
- Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose suitable solutions.
- Guide System Analysts, Architects, Developers, and others on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
- Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance.
- Evaluate new application design and suggest amendments as required.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 10+ years of hands-on experience in data warehousing.
- Solid knowledge of various data modeling techniques for data warehousing - 3NF, Layered, hybrid, etc.
- Experience working with large-scale (100 TB+) data warehouses (DW)/operational data stores (ODS).
- Extensive experience in building data models for MPP, Social, and NoSQL technologies, such as BigData, Hive, SQL*Server, Hadoop, Cassandra, Cloud DBs like BigQuery and/or Snowflake.
- Excellent experience working with globally distributed teams in a collaborative and supportive manner.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of stakeholders, with the ability to negotiate with and influence others.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- A graduate degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience in data modeling, data analysis, data warehousing, or a related field.
- Relevant industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, e-commerce, healthcare, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits
