Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and development opportunities to management and hourly associates by hiring, training, coaching, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and ensuring diversity awareness.
- Maintain the company's Open Door Strategy by meeting with associates, listening to concerns, investigating issues, evaluating company policies and procedures, and providing guidance to associates.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures by holding hourly associates and management accountable, reviewing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring asset protection and safety controls, maintaining quality assurance standards, and conducting safety and operational audits.
- Initiate, coordinate, and participate in local community outreach programs, and encourage and support associates and management in serving as good community members.
- Drive the financial performance of the store by ensuring that sales and profit objectives are achieved, controlling costs, creating and implementing plans to address any shortcomings in financial performance, and participating in analyzing financial trends and community needs for budget planning.
- Model, enforce, and provide guidance and direction to hourly associates and management on proper customer service policies and procedures to ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are effectively resolved within company guidelines and standards.
- Coordinate the management team in store operations and communicate with both management and hourly associates about store activities, marketing, and company direction.
- Drive sales in the store by ensuring effective product display, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signage, in-stock and inventory levels, and assessing financial trends and community needs.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- 3 years of general management experience, including financial responsibility.
- 3 years of experience supervising at least 50 exempt and non-exempt associates/employees, including the responsibility of performance management.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred but not required).
Preferred Qualifications
The following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Experience running a new or dry grocery department.
