Key Responsibilities
As a Project Developer and Application Engineer at Workwarp, your primary focus will be on managing the development of new projects, designing unitary controls for BAS/BMS and SCADA systems, and developing software using Niagara for custom applications. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing unitary controls in service of BAS/BMS and SCADA systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
- Preparing detailed submittals for client confirmation and bidding subcontractors, ensuring that all project requirements are met and expectations are managed.
- Conducting software testing and validation of HVAC controllers and BMS integration, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and operations, to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Traveling to client sites as needed (estimated 20-30% of the time) to provide technical support, training, and commissioning services.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in application engineering, with a strong background in designing and developing unitary controls for BAS/BMS and SCADA systems.
- Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels, including clients, contractors, and colleagues.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and manage timelines, meet critical deadlines, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to act in a professional manner at all times, following through on commitments and taking responsibility for your actions.
- Excellent writing and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with IEC61131-3 software development methodology and PLC coding languages such as Carel, Siemens, and Allen Bradley.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with system and component networking and communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LON (485 & TCP/IP).
- Working knowledge of BMS/BAS and SCADA systems such as Niagara, Siemens, and Schnieder.
- Experience with data center/mission critical infrastructure, including Liebert AM/AG and iCOM controls.
- Previous experience in project development, with a strong understanding of the project lifecycle and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
