Job Summary
As a Pharmacy Technician - Customer Service Representative at Blithequark, you will play a critical role in providing professional phone assistance to members, providers, and other stakeholders through our criteria-based prior authorization process. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely documentation of all approvals and denials, as well as transferring clinical questions and judgment calls to our pharmacists. If you have a strong background in customer service, preferably in healthcare or a similar field, and are certified as a Pharmacy Technician (or willing to obtain certification), we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to members, providers, and other stakeholders via phone, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Navigate our criteria-based prior authorization process to ensure accurate and timely documentation of all approvals and denials.
- Transfer clinical questions and judgment calls to our pharmacists, ensuring that complex issues are addressed by qualified professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, including documentation of approvals, denials, and other outcomes.
- Collaborate with our team to identify areas for improvement and implement process changes to enhance the customer experience.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and industry standards, including HIPAA and other relevant laws and guidelines.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service position, preferably in healthcare, social services, or a similar field.
- High volume call center experience, with a strong ability to handle multiple calls and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Verifiable high school diploma or GED required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex systems and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician certification at a state or national level (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Experience with pharmacy benefits management, health insurance, or other related fields.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmacology, with a strong understanding of healthcare concepts and principles.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
As a Pharmacy Technician - Customer Service Representative at Blithequark, you can expect:

- Temporary 6-12 month contract, with opportunities for extension or conversion to a permanent role.
- Assigned shifts vary from 7AM-8PM CT, with training hours from 8AM-4:30PM CT.
