Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Pest Control Technician to provide pest control services to homeowners, property managers, and businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quality pest control services, managing residential and commercial customers, and identifying opportunities to sell additional company products and services. As a Pest Control Technician, you will be the face of our company, interacting with clients, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality pest control services and management for residential and commercial customers on your route, as well as one-time and warranty services.
- Conduct visual inspections for pests, pest harborage, entry points, and communicate findings to customers.
- Apply pesticides and rodenticides within the confines of the law, using required personal protection and safety equipment.
- Maintain your vehicle, ensuring it is clean, neat, and organized, and stocked with necessary products, equipment, and chemicals.
- Schedule repairs and routine maintenance with your supervisor, and submit all paperwork and customer payments on time and in proper order.
- Review your route in advance of the workday, advising the office of any requested changes, and be knowledgeable about all state regulations and safety procedures.
- Identify opportunities to sell additional company products and services to existing customers, and recognize and report sales leads and opportunities to managers.
- Coordinate with other departments and technicians to ensure completion and customer satisfaction, and attend required training meetings.
Essential Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer and email skills, with the ability to work in a team-based environment with good judgment and decision-making ability.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with pest control licensing and continued training, and the ability to become a Certified Operator within 6 months of employment.
- Prior pest control experience is extremely beneficial, with a valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This role requires:
- Physical ability to perform the work, including bending, lifting, carrying 50 lbs of equipment, kneeling, crawling, entering confined spaces, and climbing ladders or scaffolds.
- Normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.
- Dexterity and data entry skills, with the ability to work under stressful conditions or irregular hours.
- Emotional stability and personal maturity, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
