Job Summary
The Part-Time Security Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our Primary Security Office capabilities, including security authorization, crisis response, monitoring of fire and air conditioning systems, communication with local authorities, dispatch tasks, and emergency notifications. This is a low-pressure role, with varying shifts and days required, offering a competitive $24/hour salary and the flexibility to work from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome, screen, and direct all guests following established protocols.
- Authorize organization security and parking policies consistently and fairly.
- Screen organization property, identify, and report health and safety risks.
- Secure property as directed.
- Complete and issue hot work licenses.
- Conduct investigations per hot work license cycles to ensure security at ESPN offices.
- Conduct fire watch tasks in assigned hot workspaces.
- Provide relevant general information to guests and employees.
- Perform general security system checks.
- Perform access control duties at high-traffic outside posts according to established procedures.
- Perform vehicle reviews according to established investigation protocols.
- May assist with scheduling maintenance for fleet vehicles.
- May respond to medical, fire, security, and other health-related crises and incidents as trained and compose thorough reports according to established procedures.
- May be required to provide security presence at special events (on or off-grounds).
- In certain cases, you may be required to set up barricades, operate doors, and generally direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
- You may be required to complete special tasks as needed.
- Precisely complete work orders, archiving requestor's name, location, type of service required.
- Recognize create on every standard request.
- May complete work requests and dispatch support staff to the correct location of mentioned work orders.
- Aid the circulation and tracking of related departmental keys.
- May monitor handheld radio channels for air conditioning, Electrical, Support, Development, and Wellbeing to work with communication between teams.
- May receive and manage all requests for facilities services through calls or email and radio.
- May monitor primary organization outside telephone line and direct incoming calls as necessary.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:
Essential Qualifications
- Should have and maintain a valid Driver's license in the state of Texas.
- At least one year of customer service or related experience.
- Should pass a pre-work background check, DMV check, and urinalysis drug screen.
- Should currently hold and maintain a valid Non-Charged Security Officer Permit in the State of Texas or be able to obtain one within 30 days.
- Should have the flexibility to work varying shifts (hours and days off) and stay at work longer than required as directed.
- Should be able to perform basic work tasks on computers, including using MS Outlook email and Word.
- Keep a professional presence in appearance and communications at all times.
- Should complete required hot work license training.

- At least 2 years of work experience in Office Management or a related field handling service requests.
