Job Overview
This position is based in Remote, Colorado, offering a unique blend of professional and personal growth opportunities. We are looking for a highly skilled and versatile individual who can drive success through their strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents. The compensation for this role is highly competitive, with a salary range of $16.46 to $20.28 per hour, depending on recent relevant experience. This position is classified as Grade G, with an 8.0-hour workday, Tuesday through Friday, on a 9-month schedule, paid over 12 months, and is eligible for benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with the instruction of individual and small groups of students in all academic areas, promoting inclusive learning practices.
- Supervise and instruct students without a certified teacher present for purposes of tutoring and other activities, ensuring their safety and engagement.
- Prepare various materials used in classrooms, including designing, copying, and binding, to support lesson plans and student activities.
- Assist with student data collection, including daily student work, portfolios, report cards, and recording assessment data to inform instruction.
- Administer tests to determine academic skill levels as directed by certified instructors, helping to identify areas of strength and improvement.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, students, and parents, fostering a collaborative and supportive school community.
- Supervise students in the lunchroom, on the playground, and during other activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
Essential Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required, with a strong foundation in academic subjects.
- CPR/First Aid certifications preferred, demonstrating a commitment to student safety and well-being.
- Ability to work effectively with others, be flexible, and adapt to change, with a willingness to support multiple grade levels and teachers.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with school staff, students, and parents.
- A passion for helping students improve their literacy skills and other educational abilities, with a patient and supportive approach.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are helpful, but not required, as we value diversity and inclusivity in our school community.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Experience working with children or in a classroom setting, with a strong understanding of child development and learning principles.
- Basic math and accounting skills, with the ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
