Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Advanced Innovation team. As a Senior Data Scientist - Statistics, you will provide mathematical modeling and analysis services to support critical business decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions that drive business growth and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and apply statistical models and machine learning algorithms to drive business outcomes
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
- Design, develop, and deploy large-scale data models and analytics solutions
- Work with product delivery teams to integrate data-driven solutions into business operations
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in statistics, machine learning, and data science
- Contribute to the development of business cases and proposals for data-driven solutions
- Provide ongoing analytical support to client associations
- Develop and deliver presentations and reports to stakeholders
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Postgraduate education (PhD or ABD) in Statistics or a related quantitative discipline
- Coursework or work experience with statistical modeling and analysis, including the application of advanced statistical techniques
- Experience with programming languages such as R, Python, or Julia
- Strong business, technical, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with clients
- Proficiency in MS Office and other productivity tools
- Successful completion of an interview to assess technical skills and fit
- Strong, reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of the position
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minor in computer science or formal advanced computer science coursework
- 2+ years of professional experience in a quantitative field
- 1+ year of experience in the airline industry or a related field
- Experience with large-scale data modeling and analytics solutions
- Knowledge of industry data sources and data structures
- Demonstrated ability to drive business value through data-driven solutions
