**Key Responsibilities**
* Design and develop large-scale data pipelines and architectures to support business and information science needs
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize projects, develop technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems
* Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, data set frameworks, and tools for continuous and batch processing
* Work with the data science team to integrate data and models into automated processes
* Develop and maintain data stores and data models to support information science and other internal clients
* Ensure data quality and accessibility standards are met by incorporating data from various sources
* Investigate current data technology conditions to identify and evaluate key capabilities and suggest solutions
* Explore and recommend new tools and technologies to optimize solutions given the requirements directed by the model/use case
**Essential Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
* 5+ years of relevant work experience in data engineering, with a focus on designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and architectures
* 5+ years of experience with SQL and Python programming languages
* Experience with cloud-based platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
* Strong communication, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
**Preferred Qualifications**
* 5+ years of experience with Hadoop, Hive, or PySpark
* Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
* Familiarity with the healthcare industry and its data challenges
* Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.)
**Skills and Competencies**
* Strong understanding of data engineering principles and practices
