About the Role
As a Dock Coordinator, you will be responsible for directing our workforce in the coordination of inbound and outbound activities for daily warehouse operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct inbounds to specific docks or areas for unloading and ensure efficient storage of products.
- Coordinate the workload of hi-lo drivers, assigning tasks and ensuring accurate documentation of inbound and outbound activities.
- Validate IBTs (Inter-Company Billing Transactions) for accuracy and compliance, and maintain records of transactions.
- Oversee the staging of built pallets and ensure the cleanliness of work areas.
- Inspect the condition of trailers and tractors, and verify product for destruction.
- Communicate performance issues to supervisors and coordinate with carriers and vendors.
- Track carrier in/out times, assign picking tasks to available resources, and sequence loads to teams and employees.
- Utilize SAP to receive and create IBTs, and maintain the OOS (Out of Stock) table in POD.
- View warehouse stock reports (DSI reports) and coordinate trailers to docks for outbound loading.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or GED; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in PC systems and software applications, with the ability to quickly pick up technical knowledge.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to delegate tasks and motivate team members.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve, with strong conflict resolution and leadership skills.
- Customer-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates with:
- Experience in warehouse operations management or a similar role.
- Knowledge of SAP and other warehouse management systems.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
