About the Role
Data has revolutionized the way arenaflex operates, and as a data engineer, you will be responsible for harnessing the power of data to drive business decisions. The data engineering teams within our Operations Analysis and Performance (OAP) department are accountable for curating Single Source of Truth data tables, generating and distributing automated reporting, leading efforts to transition to modern data and reporting tools, and serving as a center of excellence for efficient data processing and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and extract data from various sources for analysis, modeling, and project development
- Clean and curate datasets by identifying new data sources, collaborating with other business units, and aggregating views into meaningful hierarchies
- Familiarize yourself with data environments and collaborate to enhance automated reports and analyses in support of divisional leaders and business units
- Leverage emerging technologies and proactively explore efficient and effective ways to communicate data and analysis to meet divisional needs
- Support strategy development and project management engagements for individual business units and cross-divisional initiatives
- Train and mentor other team members in various skills and subjects
- Practice security-aware behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
- Embody a group-first mindset, prioritizing the success of our team and business partners
- Be intellectually curious, ask questions, and communicate ideas and suggestions
- Demonstrate experience working in high-profile environments with fluid priorities, ambiguity, and competitive deadlines
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of associated experience
- Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns
- Proficiency with Python, SAS, or other comparable tools and programming languages
- Ability to troubleshoot a reporting database environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously, managing multiple requests with varying timelines
- Self-starter with a resilient, solution-minded approach to complex problems, working individually or in a team
- Consistently prioritize safety and security of self, others, and personal data
- Embrace diverse people, thinking, and styles
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
- Be at least 18 years of age and have authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, or other applicable quantitative field
- Previous airline experience
- Working knowledge of and/or experience with cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, GPC, etc.)
