As a Construction Manager for North America Customer Fulfillment, you will play a pivotal role in building and improving the physical infrastructure of Amazon's online fulfillment business. You will be responsible for overseeing the construction of new Fulfillment Centers, renovations, and capacity improvements within existing facilities across the US.

About the Role

This is a remote role with frequent travel to job sites across the US, requiring a highly experienced and skilled Construction Manager to serve as Amazon's representative and direct point of interface with Developers and General Contractors. You will be the primary integrator between construction and other Amazon stakeholders responsible for equipping, furnishing, and operating our Fulfillment Centers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from small renovations to large-sized ($100M+) new facilities, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Collaborate with internal technical teams and operational customers to facilitate engineering and design efforts on new and remodel projects.
• Provide technical direction concerning engineering design, building design, layouts, build details, schedules, and materials in accordance with North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) design parameters.
• Negotiate contracts and contract changes with developers and General Contractors, ensuring that contracts are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and incorporate appropriate Service Level Agreements.
• Ensure overall site management, coordination, planning, specification of business proposals, and coordination of subcontractors.
• Assess project performance through Key Performance Indicators for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Partner with teams tasked with transition of base building management and oversight of all turnover documentation.
• Coach and guide all project teams throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring that contracted resources deliver work to meet duration and quality targets.
• Audit contractors to check that the skills and competencies of contract labor are appropriate to need and they are fit to undertake the work on which they will be deployed.
• Identify and resolve clashes, design misses, and schedule conflicts with other Amazon execution teams.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable field.
• 5 or more years of experience in commercial or industrial construction as an Engineer, Construction Manager, General Contractor PM, Owner's Representative, Commercial Developer, or similar construction-related disciplines.
• 5 or more years of Project Management experience.
• 5 or more years of experience negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Demonstrated skill in written and oral communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Specific experience in construction or renovation of commercial warehouse facilities or fulfillment centers.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package that reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $61,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,800/year in our highest geographic market. In addition to base pay, you may be eligible for equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
